About Our Contributors

The following list of creators, in no particular order, have contributed to our books. Watch this space -- I'll be adding images and art samples, as well as links.

Fabian Nicieza

Fabian is certainly no stranger to Marvel fans, and his new position as Editor-in-Chief at Acclaim is garnering rave reviews for his relaunch of the Valient books.

Chapters of his "Life Bytes" series (which Fabian penciled, BTW) appear in X-Flies Special #1 and Dirtbag #7.

Scott Saavedra

Creator of Slave Labor Graphics stalwart Dr. Radium, Scott is also responsible for the late, lamented (or should that be latte-lamented?) Java Town, and a very cool 'zine called Comic Book Heaven. His story "Priorities" appears in X-Flies Special #1.

His Web site, Infernal Delights, is much cooler than this one. Not only that, but Dr. Radium is celebrating his 10th anniversary, and has been optioned by Fox TV for a possible animated series.

Gary St. Lawrence

Gary is a columnist for CBG and a contributing writer for Wizard. His Wrax ashcan is available at conventions from Twist and Shout, and he needs to e-mail me with a list of his more recent credits, which include Chameleon Cat, Spy Tykes and others.

Josh Carroll

Joshua Carroll is a Portland cartoonist appearing in alternative papers. His Anti-Fash with Tonar, Rail, and many other works can be found on his Web site.

Two Anti-Fash with Tonar strips appear in Dirtbag #6.

Mark Stafford

We saw him first! So have you, if you've gotten your copies of X-Flies Conspiracy ("The Prick"), Dirtbag #6 (Graham's Lousy Day, Glyph), Dirtbag#7(So, Uh, What's Your Band Called?), or X-Flies Bug Hunt #1, where his "Ain't we Got Fun" is our flip feature.

Mark reports that he has recently finished a children's book, and something called The Last Days of Christ The Vampire. These delusions aside, he's a spectacular new talent just waiting to be grabbed by Fantagraphics or something.

Roger Langridge

One of Britain's most acclaimed cartoonists, Roger is so good, it's downright silly. So is his work: Bill The Clown, Art D'Ecco, and a number of projects for Paradox Press, Fantagraphics, and Dark Horse. Bill The Clown strips appear in Dirtbag #6 and Dirtbag #7.

Bebe Williams

A Xeric Grant receipient for his book Bobby Ruckers, Bebe has been a steady contributor to Twist and Shout books since X-Flies Special #1. Whether working in photographs or ink, his work is heavily influenced by his work as a performance artist. His contributions continue with his "Cyber X-Flies" serial, featured in the X-Flies Bug Hunt miniseries.

His Art Comics Web Site serves up daily comic strips, serialized books, animations, and a number of cool things. This is one of the largest and most popular comics-related sites on the Web.

Lance Gueck

Lance is co-creator (with Richard Johnston) of Wurx, which will debut in X-Flies Bug Hunt #2. Other projects he has written include the N Studios series Anarchy, and substantial contributions to his friend Todd McFarlane's Spawn.

(The story of his uncredited work for Spawn is featured in an article in X-Flies Conspiracy. To this day, neither Todd McFarlane or his representatives have responded to the charges made in this article.)

Dave A. Law

Dave is a columnist for Extreme Magazine, writes Joshua Steel for Global Comics, and has a collection of his work coming out from Proving Grounds. His "My Life Among the Humans" appears in X-Flies Special and X-Flies Conspiracy.

Dave also maintains a Web site featuring self-publishing information, Creating Comics. It's an extensive and well-written collection of useful links for comics creators. This is part of his DEGA Studios site, which also highlights his other work.
