Described as "the inevitable..." by Three In A Bed's Jeremy Dennis in Caption, Rich Johnston gets everywhere. With a comics address book fast resembling that of Larry Marder's, he can be seen at every British convention in the bar. Usually buying drinks for Mark Stafford. Alan Moore calls him "a really nice guy". Grant Morrison and Mark Millar discuss his sex life with complete strangers. He's just started writing radio comedy for the BBC. He also reports all you internet-type people for his column Networks, compiled for Comics International, published by Dez Skinn. He was Student Cartoonist Of The Year in 1994, but that was a long time ago. Currently he works as a copywriter for Leavold Pollard Rogan Advertising.

Far too modest to write his own biography except under duress, Mike often wonders just how he got into the comics business, anyway. His past jobs as college DJ, radio producer, newspaper editor, rock critic, aerospace worker, gardening supplies salesman, produce clerk, construction worker, T-shirt designer, greeting card writer, and audience plant for an auctioneer seem perfect preparation for the equally dubious profession of small publisher. He brews his own beer, plays several musical instruments badly, and thinks that Photoshop may well be the answer to world hunger, or at least eternal youth.
