Adventure Strip Digest Vol. 2 #1

Randy Reynaldo's acclaimed Adventure Strip Digest series makes its debut as part of Image's "non-line," starting in April.

ASD is a globe-trotting adventure in the tradition of Terry and The Pirates, but set in modern times. The star of the book is Rob Hanes, a private investigator for the international troubleshooting firm Justice International. Part superspy, part innocent abroad, Rob lands in one trouble spot after another.

This is a very enjoyable update of the old-school adventure comics -- take away the unfortunate racial and cultural stereotyping of the '40s strips, add strong and beleivable female characters (no damsels in distress), and keep the exotic locales and colorful characters, and you've got quite an imaginative trip ahead of you. Randy's artwork and writing more than does the tradition justice -- he makes it relevent for a whole new generation of readers.
